Snowrenity
Acrylic on Canvas 60 x 24 2010 sold
This scene is definitely rural. And seemingly more so with a heavy layer of snowy-ness.
It’s a snowy
afternoon, and just a
while earlier, the snow
stopped for a bit,
and it’s very
cold, very still,
and very quiet.
Almost a somber hush –
But despite
that, there’s
activity motivated by the wind, seen in a
brave lonely tree, and the field
grasses.
They may be
muted,but they will
not be silenced! And a sense of
peacefulness abounds.
This was a
most challenging painting because my
colors were so
greyed-down.
My usual
tendency is toward much brighter
colors! But here, the
muted tones
enhance the
calming effect of the
painting.
